As prescribed by your doctor. The typical starting adult dose is 5 mg orally once daily, which may be adjusted up to a maximum of 10 mg daily depending on the patient's therapeutic response. It can be taken with or without food at roughly the same time every day. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and never discontinued abruptly.
Common: Peripheral edema (swelling of ankles or feet), headache, dizziness, fatigue, somnolence (sleepiness), flushing, nausea, and abdominal discomfort. Severe/Rare: Excessive low blood pressure (hypotension), syncope (fainting), arrhythmias, worsening of angina, and rare reports of lichenoid keratosis (benign, inflamed skin lesions)
